Q: What kind of homework will students have? How often?
A: Students will have a short (5-6 question) homework assignment every night! Homework is given to students to review important concepts that they have learned this year and last year. Students will not have homework on days when they have a quiz or test. |
What to Practice at Home
It is important to practice math every day! Some skills that should be mastered by 6th grade are multiplication facts, basic addition and subtractions, and division facts. Practicing these skills at home will greatly help you with math at school! There are many ways for parents and guardians to practice these skills, including quizzing your child on basic facts while in the car so they can practice their mental math skills!

Bell WorkWhy do we need bell work?
Bell work is a great way to work on students' problem solving strategies throughout the year! Bell work also gives students structure in their daily math routine so that they are able to know what to expect when they come in the door every day! Each week students will be responsible for bringing their bell work sheet (that they receive on Monday) to class. Those sheets are collected on Fridays. |
